Macau

Este é o último lote de fotografias sobre a minha viagem de Setembro a Macau e terras do Oriente. Neste lote pode ver-se um pouco daquilo que Macau realmente é: uma terra portuguesa no Extremo Oriente, uma terra feita da miscigenação de gentes, forjada através de séculos; uma terra onde me sinto bem, onde está-se bem, onde quem está sente-se bem em lá estar.

É também um terra tranquila, com uma escala humana e com harmonia entre as diferentes comunidades que cohabitam este território. Os templos chineses estão lado a lado com as igrejas católicas, a arquitectura colonial portuguesa convivem com a maneira de ser chinesa.

Nas fotos podem ver o quão perto a China por vezes se encontra (sobretudo da Ilha da Taipa), as ruas e igrejas de Macau; enfim... sentir um pouco aquilo que deixámos para trás, mas que felizmente o Governo da RAEM e o Governo Central teimam em perpetuar, legando um património importante para o futuro.

This is my last batch of photos about my last journey to Macau and lands of the Far-East. In these pictures you can see what Macau truly is: a Portuguese land in the Far-East, a land made of the mixing of peoples, built throughout the centuries. It's a place where I feel confortable, where one feels confortable, where all those who are there feel confortable.

Macau is also a peaceful and quiet land, built in a human scale, with harmony among the multiple ethnic communities sharing the territory. The Chinese temples are side by side with Catholic churches, the Portuguese colonial architecture adapts perfectly to the Chinese lifestyle.

In the pictures you can also see how, at times, China is so near (like in the photos taken from the Taipa Island), you can see the streets and the churches of Macau; all in all you can feel a bit of Portugal.
