Fim-de-semana na neve/Week-end in the snow

On Sunday last week-end I went with the International Ski Club to Megève a resort located somewhere in the french alps. The journey from Geneva took little more than an hour and a half.

The weather was absolutely fantastic with blue sky, sun shine, and so warm that I eventually lost a few extra kilos inside my ski outfit.

The day started with a coffee and a croissant (something very Austrian), then classes, back to lunch (half a kilo of melted cheese with potatoes and two beers), classes again, and finally return around 4.30pm.

Everything was going well until the instructor, completely out-of-his-mind, decided to take us to a red slope. Needless to say I couln't believe that to be happening to me. For someone like me who had never had exposure to a real ski environment, and who only ski experience had been indoors in Dubai, the idea of going down such a long and steep slope was not reassuring. Anyway, I still decided to do it. Going downhill took about one hour and by the end I was completely exhausted. Never again until I know what I'm doing.
