São Petersburgo
Acabo de chegar da Rússia, onde estive numas mini-férias em São Petersburgo. Muito há a relatar, e sê-lo-á feito, mas por fases.
Quero começar pela Igreja, essa instituição tão importante para o desenvolvimento harmonioso de uma sociedade, que o regime bolchevique/comunista tentou, em vão, destruir durante os 70 anos em que sequestrou o poder ao povo.
Já estava na sala de embarque quando me cruzo com um padre. Meto conversa e descubro que é católico. Sabendo que sou português muito rapidamente me oferece a pagela cuja imagem anexo abaixo. Sim, trata-se de um ícone de Nossa Senhora de Fátima.
É seguramente a recordação mais importante que levo da Rússia.
I've just arrived from Russia, where I was in a short holidays in Saint Petersburg. There are lots of stories to tell, but that will come in the following days.
I'd like to start with the church, an organization of the utmost importance for the balanced and harmonious development of society, that the bolchevik/communist regime tried to destroy during the 70 years it seized power from the people.
I was in the boarding room when I come across a priest. I talk to him and discover he's catholic. Soon after, knowing that I'm Portuguese, he offered me the image I attach below: Our Lady of Fátima.
This is certainly the sweetest memory I have of Russia.
Yvoire
Yvoire é uma pequena vila francesa, mesmo muito pequena, situada na margem do Lac Leman (lago que banha igualmente Genebra). A vila celebrou recentemente os seus 700 anos de história.
O castelo, ainda hoje privado e pertença do barão títular destas terras, é a construção mais imponente. A vila forma um todo harmonioso construído em pedra, estando a parte histórica localizada dentro de muralhas.
Foi uma tarde de Domingo muito bem passada na companhia da Isabel. Amanhã parto para uma nova aventura, São Petersburgo, donde regressarei na segunda-feira à noite.
Yvoire is a small French town, very small indeed, located on the shores of Lake Leman, just like Geneva. Yvoire celebrated recently its 700th anniversary.The most grand construction of the town is certainly the castle, which is still private property and ownership of the baron lord of the surrounding lands. Altogether, the town was built on rock with rock, and there is a pleasent harmony throughtout its narrow roads.It was a very pleasent Sunday afternoon in the presence of Isabel. Tomorrow morning I'll be leaving for one more adventure, this time Saint Petersburg, from where I'll return on Monday evening.
Rafael Luís Saraiva de Menezes e Borges
Foi no dia 14 de Abril que se deu o grande acontecimento: o baptismo do Rafael Luís, e a sua Consagração a Nossa Senhora. Eu, na minha qualidade de padrinho babado e vaidoso, lá estava com enorme alegria.
Tudo correu bem, como seria de esperar. Num ambiente familiar e entre amigos a festa foi fantástica. O tempo ajudou e, para variar, desta vez no Minho não se sentiu frio.
The great event happened on April 14: the baptism of Rafael Luís and his Consecration to Our Lady. I can only say that I was a very happy, proud and vain Godfather.All went well, as expected. In a family like environment, among friends, the celebration was fantastic. The weather was simply beautiful.
